WAITARA KAYAK & MULTISPORT CLUB RULES
As a Club, we are committed to ensuring
members remain safe, by observing Water Safety Standards.
The Club has a responsibility to build a
culture of safety in our sport, and promotes personal responsibility to achieve
this.
By using our Club & facilities we
expect you to take responsibility to observe our Rules.
· It is recommended that Buoyancy Vests are
worn at all times.
· Buoyancy Vests must be worn upstream of the
highway bridge.
· Buoyancy Vests must always be worn during
winter evening training sessions above the highway bridge.
· Helmets must be worn upstream of the Big
Rock rapid.
· To ensure safety of fellow members,
buddy-up when kayaking upstream of the Big Rock rapid, and during winter
evening training sessions.
· The club is committed to obeying Water
Safety Standards.
· You are responsible for your own safety,
which includes preparation of boat and equipment, and compliance with club
rules.
· Safe Kayaking, in any water condition,
means you must evaluate conditions & your abilities, before you enter the
water. If in doubt…don’t enter the water.
· We highly recommend you always paddle with
a buddy.
· This facility is our club asset. Please
take responsibility to keep the shed clean and free of rubbish.
· We are committed to keeping the River free
of Didymo. Every club boat after
use, must be washed down externally, with the inside swabbed dry.
· Please remove your rubbish, food supplement
sachets, and empty bottles.
· The Club rooms must be left secure by
locking the door after you whether you are
paddling, or leaving for the day.
· No body can use the kayak, paddle or
equipment belonging to another, without prior permission.
· Club Boats and Paddles can be used but only
with the permission of a fellow club member.
· Club Boats and paddles can only be used on
the Waitara River, no further than the entrance to Big Rock Rapid.
